The last month for the second quarter of the year 2018 has already come and in line with this, the Philippine Association of State Universities and Colleges held its annual convention once again at the SMX Convention Center.

The event opened on June 27 and ended on June 29 with the theme Positioning Public Higher Education for Strategic Global Transformation. Attended by known speakers and delegates from different State Universities and Colleges, the 3-day event discussed the current situation of the educational system in the Philippines and hence, the event’s theme, the speakers presented ways on how the higher education can be prepared for a global transformation.

Part of this were exhibit booths, catering technology for the academe which was participated by Hytec Power, Inc. Occupying ten booths at the event, HPI showcased advanced technology on different fields of specializations such as Chemical Engineering, Food Technology, Welding, Fabrication Laboratory, Civil Engineering, Sciences, Electronics, ICT, Mechatronics, Electromechanical, and many more.

The discussions and presentations together with the technology offered by Hytec Power, Inc. were perfect combinations for the solution contributions for a global transformation. Quality, access, and equity are just some of the factors that the academe is currently facing. Aiming to plan for a global transformation for the academe, it was also brought to the attention of everyone that a good faculty should also be present. “Incompetent faculty produces dysfunctional graduates.”, said by the PASUC President, Dr. Tirso A. Ronquillo.

True to all, strategic planning will always play a key factor in aiming for a global transformation and alongside, the process used and done is also one of what should always be monitored. As it was already brought to the attention of the audience, CHED Commissioner Dr. Lilian A. De Las Llagas stated “Quality education is quality faculty and that is the rule of thumb”. Part of the event’s theme is the plan to start the global transformation with the academe’s faculty system; Hytec Power, Inc. contributes a solution to this plan through the Faculty Immersion program wherein the faculty for SUC’s and Colleges participate in a training on different engineering areas conducted by HPI.

Hytec Power, Inc. believes that one should always find time to creatively prepare for global transformation. Starting global transformation with the Philippine educational system is one way to step up the to the game and additional to this, HPI also provides advanced and complete laboratory equipment to meet the requirements of SUCs and HEIs. However, of course, factors that may affect this view are very much dynamic such as the memorandums and/or reforms of the higher authorities and the budget to make this concept happen. The process of a revolving fund is not something new and the Philippines being a third world country experiences huge challenges when it comes to this aspect.

Having said that, together with the PASUC and CHED, the speakers lead presentations on strategic planning on educational funding as well. The event was also participated by Commission on Audit-Chairperson, Mr. Michael G. Aguinaldo. “We do not just want free education. We want relevant, quality, and inclusive education.”, said by Mr. Aguinaldo. The CoA having the responsibility to examine, audit, and settle account funding has been supportive towards SUCs and HEIs. As said by CHED Commissioner – Dr. Lilian A. De Las Llagas, “The COA has transformed from being a watchdog to guardian angels to enabler.” Thus, proving that help in the form of CoA is just around the corner to those who seek and ask for it.

Education is only one of the factors that gives hope to our life as it is a great equalizer. Preparing for global competitiveness means being equipped with all the necessary elements and one of this is Education 4.0 which has all the tools needed for Industry 4.0 – aligning theory to application.

Hytec Power, Inc. participated at the PASUC 2018 not only to exhibit latest technologies and equipment but also to show that Education 4.0 is also being catered and provided to help in aligning the Academe and Industry. Education 4.0 being available today and is already within reach, Hytec Power, Inc. confidently takes this opportunity to spread this conducive innovation to all the schools in the Philippines. The future is now and Hytec Power, Inc. is your guide to achieving global competitiveness.

“It is not the strongest species that survived nor the more intelligent one. But those who respond to changes.” – Dr. Lilian A. De Las Llagas, CHED Commissioner
